Disney Plus will premiere season three of Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, on March 1. Disney Plus debuted the first trailer for the show's third season during Monday night's NFL Super Wild Card matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which aired across ABC, ESPN and ESPN Plus.

In season three, the Mandalorian, Din Jjarin (The Last of Us' Pedro Pascal) has reunited with his adopted son, Grogu, after Grogu had departed with Luke Skywalker to become a Jedi. Grogu chose to return to Din instead of continuing his Jedi training and now together they will return to Mandalor where Din seeks to “be forgiven for his transgressions.”
Meanwhile, all around them the Republic is fighting the Empire as it grows in power.
The series stars Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow and Giancarlo Esposito.
The directors of the eight-episode season include Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey and Bryce Dallas Howard.
Jon Favreau is the series' showrunner/head writer and serves as an executive producer along with Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck are co-executive producers.
