Imaginary Forces takes viewers back to the swinging sixties in its main title sequence for Apple TV Plus’ new series, Palm Royale, starring and executive produced by Kristen Wiig.
The sequence delivers straightforward type and imagery laden with Easter eggs, set to a jazzy score.
Palm Royale tells the story of Maxine Simmons (Wiig), who longs to live an elite lifestyle and is willing to take risks to acquire it, sneaking into the back of a luxurious Palm Springs hotel and then trying to make her way into high society.
“The Palm Royale title sequence typographically showcases a star-studded lineup of an incredible cast,” said Imaginary Forces creative director Ronnie Koff in a statement. “We created a fun and colorful expression of Maxine’s world that explores the many themes of the series and nods to the graphic opens of ‘60s cinema.”
Besides Wiig, Palm Royale stars Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Amber Chardae Robinson, Kaia Gerber, Mindy Kohn, Julia Duffy, Allison Janney and Laura Dern with special guest appearances by Carol Burnett and Bruce Dern.
The series is executive produced by Abe Sylvia who also writes and directs. Other directors are Tate Taylor, Claire Scanlon and Stephanie Laing. Wiig, Taylor, Laura Dern, Jayme Lemons, Katie O’Connell Marsh, John Norris, Sharr White and Sheri Holman also executive produce.
Palm Royale began streaming March 20 on Apple TV Plus.
