CBS Mornings – the network’s weekday morning news show hosted by Gayle King, Tony Doukoupil and Nate Burlseon – this summer is running a contest called “Mixtape Moments.”
To participate, unsigned singers and musicians must submit a video of themselves singing Johnny Nash’s “I Can See Clearly Now,” demonstrated a little by Doukoupil and more (and objectively better) by CBS Mornings’ featured host Vladimir Duthiers in the above video.
The “Mixtape Moments” contest begins Wednesday, June 26 and runs through September 3. All submissions need to be in by Tuesday, July 9. Entries should be submitted through the website and can then be posted on social with the hashtag #CBSMorningsContest.

A panel of CBS News employees will determine up to 15 semifinalists, who will then be grouped into anchor teams: Team Gayle, Team Nate and Team Tony. Fans can vote for their favorite semi-finalists online as well as on Instagram.
The top three semi-finalists will go on to be featured on CBS Mornings and the grand-prize winner will receive a trip to New York City to appear on CBS Mornings in person. The final version of the winner's cover will be featured on CBS Mornings, its digital and social platforms, and could be featured in a national promotional campaign.
The new campaign will launch in early September.
