Telemundo on Wednesday will mark two years until global soccer tournament FIFA World Cup 26 during the U.S. Men’s National Team’s (USMNT) match against powerhouse Brazil on Wednesday, June 12 taking place at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla., and airing on Telemundo, Universo and Peacock.
“For us, the World Cup is not just a sporting event, it is a defining cultural milestone, and this 2026 World Cup will make its mark for the sport in America, Latinos, and Telemundo,” said Eli Velazquez, executive vice president, sports, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. “From promotional spots to activations at Universal Theme Parks and programming takeovers, Telemundo kicks off the countdown to what promises to be the largest sporting event in the world.”

The celebration will be anchored by a 30- and 60-second bespoke feature (above), titled “La Casa del Mundial - Verano 2026,” that will run alongside key soccer programming, including the USMNT match against Colombia and on the jumbotron of the Chivas v. America friendly in San Jose, as well as across all Telemundo’s digital and social media platforms.
Leading up to the USMNT v. Brazil match, the activations will ramp up throughout the week across key NBCUniversal News Group programming, as well as across all Telemundo Network news and entertainment shows, and on Telemundo stations and affiliates. Telemundo’s Miami-based headquarters, Telemundo Center, and Universal Parks across the country will dress up in FIFA World Cup 26 branding with a screen takeover.
Saturday Night Live’s Marcello Hernández and the Telemundo Deportes team will be onsite at the match in Orlando, Fla., this Wednesday to commemorate the moment.
Coverage of the game will be hosted by Telemundo Deportes’ Carlota Vizmanos and Copan Alvarez. The entire commentary team will be in-venue, featuring play-by-play by Andres Cantor and analysis by former Mexican footballer and Olympian Manuel Sol and former American soccer veteran, coach and Hall of Famer Tab Ramos.
