Paramount Plus’ supernatural series Evil isn’t taking werewolves, demons, witches and even the supposed birth of the antichrist too seriously in the show’s fourth and final season.
Evil, created and executive produced by Robert and Michelle King (The Good Wife), stars Katja Herbers (Westworld), Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Aasif Mandvi (The Daily Show) as Kristen, David and Ben, an unlikely group of supernatural investigators. Herbers plays forensic psychologist Kristen Bouchard, a mom of four daughters who has teamed up with former journalist/now priest David Acosta (Mike Colter) to investigate potential supernatural occurrences. Kristen and David also work with Ben Shakir (Aasif Mandvi), a technology contractor raised in the Islam faith. While David has no problem accepting the supernatural as part of life, Kristen and Ben remain skeptical even though they have seen many things that should convince them otherwise. The team only has a few more weeks to work together because the Catholic parish has decided to disband them due to lack of funds.
The series also stars Michael Emerson as Leland Thompson, who also is a forensic psychologist who seems a little obsessed with Kristen and her family. Thompson approaches these supernatural events with his own agenda in mind.
Evil also stars Kurt Fuller as Kristen’s therapist Dr. Kurt Boggs; Andrea Martin as Sister Andrea, a no-nonsense nun who is able to see demons masquerading as humans; and Christine Lahti as Sheryl Luria, Kristen’s mom who also happens to be romantically involved with Kristen’s professional rival, Leland Thompson.
Evil is produced by CBS Studios in association with King Size Productions. Robert King, Michelle King, Liz Glotzer, Rockne S. O’Bannon and Sam Hoffman are executive producers.
Evil premieres Thursday, May 23 on Paramount Plus. A bonus four episodes will air at the end of the season, taking the show to its finale on Thursday, August 22.
