As it continues to expand its global presence, the Global Entertainment Marketing Academy of Arts & Sciences (G.E.M.A.) last week attended Conecta Fiction & Entertainment in Toledo, Spain. While there, G.E.M.A. presented a "Masterclass in Entertainment Marketing" with former Red Bull top marketer Isabelle Hen-Wollmarker and handed out its G.E.M.A. Pitch Perfect Award.
Hen-Wollmarker – who has formerly led marketing teams at Red Bull, Swisscom, A+E Networks and History Channel and Canal+/Premiere – led a session on the principles and best practices of effective entertainment marketing on Wednesday, June 19. Hen-Wollmarker also is a G.E.M.A. member who has served on its predecessor’s European Advisory board.
Later, G.E.M.A. gave its Pitch Perfect award to the project “Una Gran Voz” (“A Big Voice”), a musical dramedy by Miguel Alcantud (21 Pinguinos) about inclusivity, diversity and self-acceptance.
Conecta Fiction & Entertainment is held each year and features panels, keynotes, pitch sessions,, workshops and plain old networking for screenwriters, producers, creatives and broadcasters from all over Europe.
