London-based Peter Anderson Studio escorts the viewer through the journey of astronaut Jo (Noomi Rapace), who returns to Earth after surviving a disaster in space in Apple TV Plus' latest sci-fi series, Constellation. Upon Jo's return, she finds that parts of her life that were intact when she departed are now missing. She begins a quest to recover them that has her questioning her ability to perceive reality.
The main titles' music comes from a 2018 composition, “Tellur” by Surrogate Sibling (also known as Dieter Dolezel).
The sequence begins with a rocket launch and then follows Jo into space and back again. Much like Jo’s perspective of life back on Earth, all of the images are saturated but somewhat distorted. Peter Anderson Studio also has produced main titles for such series as HBO's True Detective: Night Country, Prime's Good Omens 2 and Starz' Mary & George.
Besides Rapace, Constellation stars Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul), James D’Arcy , Julian Looman, Barbara Sukowa, and Rosie and Davina Coleman both playing the role of Jo’s daughter.
Peter Harness created and wrote the series. Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Game of Thrones) directs along with Oliver Hirschbiegel and Joseph Cedar. Executive producers are David Tanner, Tracey Scoffield, Caroline Benjo, Simon Arnal, Carole Scotta, Justin Thomson, Rebecca Hobbs, MacLaren and Harness.
Constellation premiered on Apple TV Plus on Wednesday, February 21 with new episodes of the eight-episode series dropping each week.
