Ashley Champ has joined New York-based creative and production studio Versus as vice president of brand partnerships and talent, Versus said Wednesday. She will work with the commercial team servicing brands and agencies as well as in the originals division.
"Ashley flips the traditional approach between brands and talent. She pays attention to directors and producers who are making something different, and she develops a vision of how to make a rewarding partnership work between talent and brand," said Rob Meyers, partner at Versus, in a statement. "She has a unique sense of what's next, knows talent when she sees it, and makes things happen."
Prior to joining the Versus team, Champ was the head of growth and creator partnerships at Blacktag, a global platform for Black creators. As a partner and strategic advisor for the group she has helped develop over the last four years, she established a partnership with Versus to curate the Slate talent roster, which is a program designed to provide commercial opportunities for up-and-coming creators.

While at Blacktag, Champ contributed to projects herself, serving as the executive creative director and producer for Clinique’s "Queen Me" campaign as well as collaborating with such brands as Sprite and Fenty Puma. Champ works to strategically intersect content, technology and culture to reach brands’ target communities. She also recently executive produced and creative directed an event for SLAM/LeagueFits, highlighting the contributions of NBA athletes during New York Fashion Week.
