Apple TV Plus' celebrated comedy, Ted Lasso, will return for its third season this spring, two of its executive producers said during a panel at the winter gathering of the Television Critics Association in Pasadena on Wednesday.
Besides being adored by audiences, Ted Lasso is one of only seven comedies in the history of television to win back to back Outstanding Comedy Series Emmys for its first two seasons. The others are Modern Family, 30 Rock, Frasier, The Golden Girls, Cheers, All in the Family and The Phil Silvers Show. Season three is possibly the show's last, although Apple has not officially confirmed that.
Apple TV Plus also released a first-look image of season three, showing Ted (Emmy winner Jason Sudeikis) and his one-time assistant Nathan (Nick Mohammad), now dressed in head-to-toe black, facing off with Ted's true enemy, the owner of a rival club and Rebecca's wealthy ex-husband, Rupert (Anthony Head) in the background.

Besides Ted Lasso, Apple TV Plus also announced that musical comedy Schmigadoon and murder-mystery comedy The Afterparty will both return in April, while sports drama Swagger, based on the early life of NBA superstar Kevin Durant comes back in June.
Apple TV Plus also has plenty of new series, starring Harrison Ford, Jason Segel, Eugene Levy, Jennifer Garner, Meryl Streep, Kit Harrington and many more, coming over the next several months.

First up is Shrinking, starring Jason Segel and Harrison Ford in one of Ford's first major television roles, along with Paramount Plus' 1923. Shrinking, about a grieving therapist who suddenly starts telling clients exactly what he thinks, premieres January 27.
Shrinking comes from the creative team behind Ted Lasso, led by executive producer Bill Lawrence, who also has executive produced such shows as Scrubs, Spin City and Cougar Town. Lawrence was assisted in the writing by Ted Lasso supporting actor, writer and co-executive producer Brett Goldstein and Segel, who starred in the Apple original film The Sky Is Everywhere.
Besides Segel and Ford, the show also stars Lawrence's wife, Christa Miller, along with Jessica Williams, Michael Urie, Luke Tennie and Lukita Maxwell.

Dear Edward – from Jason Katims, who also created such shows as NBC's Friday Night Lights and Parenthood and Prime Video's As We See It – premieres Friday, February 3.
Dear Edward is based on Ann Napolitano's best-selling novel and stars Connie Britton, who worked closely with Katims in her breakout role in Friday Night Lights, as well as Taylor Schilling and Colin O'Brien. The series is about a boy, Edward Adler (O'Brien), who survives a plane crash that kills everyone on board, including his family.
Hello Tomorrow, starring The Morning Show's Billy Crudup, debuts Friday, February 17. Set in a retro-future world, Hello Tomorrow is about a group of traveling salesmen hawking timeshares on the moon. Besides Crudup, the series also stars Haneefah Wood, Alison Pill, Nicholas Podany, Dewshane Williams, Hank Azaria, Matthew Maher and Jacki Weaver.
Eugene Levy (Schitt's Creek) comes to Apple TV Plus on Friday, February 24, in travelogue The Reluctant Traveler.
Levy, who considers himself neither adventurous nor well-traveled, gets to rectify that in this series, which finds him immersing in a sound bath in the Maldives, ice floating in Finland, connecting with the Navajo Nation in Utah, captaining a sailboat in Lisbon, taking a bite out of the culinary culture of Tokyo, and journeying into the Costa Rican jungle. Along the way, Levy also stays in some remarkable hotels, including the historic Gritti Palace in Venice and a train hotel suspended above Kruger National Park in South Africa.
On St. Patrick's Day, limited series Extrapolations comes to the service, featuring a star-studded cast that includes Meryl Streep, Sienna Miller, Kit Harington, Daveed Diggs, Edward Norton, Diane Lane, Tahar Rahim, Matthew Rhys, Gemma Chan, Eiza González, Forest Whitaker, Adarsh Gourav, Marion Cotillard and more.
Told over the course of eight interconnected episodes, the drama is set in a near future where climate change is just a chaotic part of everyday life. Extrapolations comes from writer, director and executive producer Scott Z. Burns.

On Friday, April 14, Apple TV Plus will premiere The Last Thing He Told Me, based on the novel of the same title by Laura Dave and Josh Singer. The Last Thing He Told Me stars Jennifer Garner, who also executive produces, along with Angourie Rice, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Aisha Tyler, Augusto Aguilera, Geoff Stults and John Harlan Kim. Garner stars and executive produces the series, which comes from Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine.
In The Last Thing He Told Me, Hannah (Garner) must create a relationship between herself and her reluctant 16-year-old stepdaughter, Bailey (Rice) in order to figure out why her husband has disappeared.

City on Fire, from Gossip Girl and The O.C. creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage based on the novel by Garth Risk Hallberg, debuts on Friday, May 12. City on Fire, which follows a mystery after an NYU student is shot in Central Park on July 4, 2003, stars an ensemble cast including Wyatt Oleff, Chase Sui Wonders, Jemima Kirke, Nico Tortorella, Ashley Zukerman, Xavier Clyde, Max Milner, Alexandra Doke, Omid Abtahi, Kathleen Munroe and John Cameron Mitchell.

Finally, comedy The Big Door Prize from David West Read (Schitt's Creek) comes to the service later this spring. The Big Door Prize, based on the novel by M.O. Walsh, stars Chris O'Dowd, Gabrielle Dennis, Ally Maki, Josh Segarra, Damon Gupton, Crystal Fox, Sammy Fourlas and Djouliet Amara.
