Based on best-selling crime thriller by J.P. Pomare, Hulu's new eight-part limited series, The Clearing, follows a woman (Theresa Palmer) who is forced to face the demons of her past in order to free children from the same fate in the future.
The story, filmed across Victoria in southeast Australia, is inspired by real-life cults in Australia and around the world.
Besides Palmer (Discovery of Witches), the series also stars Miranda Otto (Lord of the Rings, Homeland) and Guy Pearce (Jack Irish, Mare of Easttown) and Australian talent, including Hazem Shammas, Mark Coles-Smith, Kate Mulvany and Julia Savage.
The Clearing is directed by Jeffrey Walker and Gracie Otto. It's created and written by Elise McCredie and Matt Cameron (Jack Irish), with co-writer Osamah Sami.
The Clearing premieres on Hulu on May 24.
