Frequent movie couple Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are back as Nick and Audrey Spitz in Netflix's Murder Mystery 2, premiering on the service on Friday, March 31.
Four years after solving their first murder mystery (carefully documented in Netflix's 2019 film Murder Mystery), the Spitzes have opened their own detective agency. After their friend, the Maharaja (Adeel Akhtar) is kidnapped at his own wedding (on his private island, natch), a group of “real detectives,” led by Mark Strong, appears on the island, swimming up to shore in scuba gear because for some reason a boat was too obvious.
“Your reputations proceeds you,” he tells the Spitzes. “But not in a positive way, I'm afraid.”
From there, the couple is led on a chase after their friend that takes them to Paris. On the plus side, they've always wanted to go there but maybe not under these specific circumstances.
Agency Mocean cut the 2:30 trailer for Netflix, which has now been seen almost 13 million times on YouTube since it first premiered on Monday, January 30.
Murder Mystery 2 is directed by Jeremy Garelick and besides Sandler, Aniston and Strong, stars Mélanie Laurent, Jodie Turner-Smith and Kuhoo Verma with John Kani and Dany Boon.
