HBO/Max's The Last of Us and The White Lotus, Netflix's Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities and Wednesday, Apple TV Plus' Hello Tomorrow! and Prime Video's The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power all were nominated for outstanding main titles on Wednesday as part of the 75th Annual Primetime Emmy nominations.
Plains of Yonder, which was nominated for HBO/Max's The White Lotus last year, returns this year with not one, but two nominations: The White Lotus, which moved to Sicily, Italy from Maui for season two, and Prime Video's The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The Lord of the Rings' composer, Howard Shore, also was nominated for his main-titles score.
Main-title mainstay Elastic – and creative directors Andy Hall and Nadia Tzuo – made the list with HBO/Max's rookie drama The Last of Us, which was this year's second most-nominated show with 24.

Another mainstay, Imaginary Forces, scored with the retro-future opening title sequence for Apple TV Plus' Hello Tomorrow!

The Mill got on the board with its intricate main titles for Netflix's horror anthology series, Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities. That show's composer, Holly Amber Church, also is nominated for outstanding original main-titles music.
Finally, Filmograph earned a spot with its gothic main titles for Netflix's Wednesday, which was nominated for 12 Emmys on Wednesday, including outstanding comedy series. Wednesday's composer, Danny Elfman, also earned two nominations for his recasting of the classic Adams Family theme song in the show's score and main-title music.

Also nominated for main-titles music are Nicholas Britell for Disney Plus' Andor. That brings Britell's nomination tally to three with nods for the scores of HBO/Max's Succession as well Andor. While the main titles for Andor are straightforward, the Britell-penned music changed each episode.
Laura Karpman also is nominated for her bright theme for Disney Plus' Ms. Marvel with main on end titles by Perception.
The 75th annual Primetime Emmy Awards are slated to air Monday, September 18 on Fox, but with the ongoing writers' strike – and now the actors' strike – they are likely to be delayed until the strikes conclude.
