Netflix's answer to ESPN's 30 for 30, Untold, returns with four new stories for volume three.
The first of these debuts Tuesday, August 1, and looks at 26-year-old Jake Paul, who turned from YouTube star to professional boxer and whose innate marketing skills are probably the key to his success in both unlikely venues.
“Jake Paul the Problem Child” also interviews Paul's older brother, Logan, and talks to critics like UFC President Dana White and supporters like former heavyweight champion of the world Mike Tyson. The film concludes with Paul fighting a nail-biter of a match.
The docuseries continues with “Johnny Football” on August 8, diving into the story of freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel from Texas A&M who won the Heisman trophy but was unable to turn his promising and partying start into an NFL career.
On August 15, Untold digs into the story of Victor Conte in “Hall of Shame.” Conte owned nutrition and supplement company Balco Laboratories in San Francisco, supplying athletes such as San Francisco Giant Barry Bonds and track-and-field star Marion Jones steroids and other illegal athletic supplements. Producers interview Conte's former associates about the man who went to prison after being indicted on 42 counts.
Finally, “Swamp Kings” on August 23 looks at how University of Florida football coach Urban Meyer returned the Gators to two BCS National Championships with such players as Tim Tebow, Brandon Siler, Brandon Spikes, Major Wright and Ahmad Black.
