In season one of Max's Our Flag Means Death, unlikely pirate Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby) found unlikely love with the infamous Captain Blackbeard (Taika Waititi). But now that both men are back to doing their jobs, it's hard to find time to be together.
The official teaser, which is set to Prince's “The Beautiful Ones,” finds Stede longing for Blackbeard, who seems to be off doing his pirate thing. And the rest of Stede's crew doesn't seem to be as convinced about Blackbeard as Stede is.
Besides Darby and Waititi, season two also stars returning cast members Samson Kayo, Vico Ortiz, Ewen Bremner, Joel Fry, Matthew Maher, Kristian Nairn, Con O'Neill, David Fane, Samba Schutte, Nat Faxon, and Leslie Jones. New additions are recurring guest stars Ruibo Qian, Madeleine Sami, Anapela Polataivao and Erroll Shand, as well as guest stars Minnie Driver and Bronson Pinchot.
David Jenkins is Our Flag Means Death's creator and showrunner and he executive produces along with Waititi and Garrett Basch. Jenkins also directed the season's first two episodes. Other executive producers include Dan Halsted, Adam Stein and Antoine Douaihy. Season two was shot in Auckland, New Zealand.
Our Flag Means Death's first three episodes start streaming Thursday, October 5 on Max.
