Max is gearing up to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with its new campaign, “Celebrando Nuestra Comunidad,” featuring Latino talent and programming across Max's social channels, led by Max's Latino-focused platform, Pa'lante!
Max also is partnering with Buzzfeed to host a Latino movie marathon at the New York Rooftop Cinema Club on Friday, September 29. The free marathon will be open to the public and take place in three sessions.
A variety of titles will be highlighted in the Max app in the “Nuestras Voces” collection, including the following subcategories: Finding Inspiración, Leading Latinos, Laughing in Jajaja, Las Protagonistas, Family Is Everything, Siempre Proud, and Our Cultura, Our Historia.
The collection will highlight Latino content throughout September including two-part documentary The Golden Boy: Oscar De La Hoya, from executive producers Mark Wahlberg and Mario Lopez. Additional content includes Shakira In Concert: El Dorado World Tour; Habla Loud; Romeo Santos: King Of Bachata; Selena + Chef; and Vgly. TLC has The Family Chantel, while CNN is offering Eva Longoria: Searching For Mexico.
Other shows and movies in the collection that feature Latino talent include The Last of Us, starring Emmy-nominated Latino actor Pedro Pascal; Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin; Doom Patrol; Siempre, Luis; Mariachis; Father of the Bride; Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 and The Fallout.
Starting September 18, Max will showcase all seven winners from its Latino short film competition, including: Rodrigo Olivar's “Thank You, Have A Nice Day;”, Olivia De Camps' “Chico Virtual;” Zahida Pirani's “El Carrito;” Mariana Serrano's “Un Pequeño Corte;” Kryzz Gautier's “Keep/Delete;” Maria Mealla's “La Macana;” and Yessenia Sanchez's “Double Cultura.”
