Everyone knows that Shaun White is the world's most decorated snowboarder, but what they don't know is that White was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition at a young age. That never stopped White, though, and by 15 he was the world's most famous snowboarder and a newly minted millionaire.
In Max's four-part docuseries, Shaun White: The Last Run, the filmmakers mix unprecedented access to the superstar with never-before-seen archival footage to tell the story of White's snowboarding and skateboarding career. The series starts with White's childhood in San Diego – looked back on as he trains for his fifth Olympics – and proceeds through the competition at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, which White knew would be his last.
Silver Spring, Md.-based AlterEgo produced the two-minute official trailer, which includes emotional moments and quick edits that draw in the viewer.
Shaun White: The Last Run is produced by MSM in association with Reel Peak Films. It's directed by Shaul Schwarz and Christina Clusiau. Mike Tollin and Mason Gordon executive produce for MSM, Amen Teter and Kyelle Thomas executive produce for Octagon, Schwarz and Clusiau executive produce for Reel Peek Films and Igal Svet executive produces for Discovery Plus.
Shaun White: The Last Run debuts Thursday, July 6 on Max.
