Jane Garcia (Ava Louise Murchison) is a nine-year-old budding environmentalist who, like her hero Dr. Jane Goodall, is on a mission to save the world and all of its animals in Apple TV Plus' new kids and family series, Jane. Using her powerful imagination, Jane takes her best friends David (Mason Blomberg) and Greybeard the chimpanzee on epic adventures to protect wild animals all around the world.
As Jane often tells her mom, quoting Goodall: “Only if we understand, we will care. Only if we care, will we help. Only if we help, can they be saved.”
Besides Murchison and Blomberg, the series also stars Tamara Almedia, Dan Abrmovici, Jazz Allen and Sam Marra with guest stars Mary-Louise Parker, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Al Rodrigo, Lucian-River Chauhan, Samanta Walkes, Brian George and Graham Green.
“I believe that stories have the power to inspire people to action. I am very hopeful that this series will encourage young people, their families, and friends to help save animals around the world,” said Dr. Goodall in a statement
The show's theme song, “One Step Closer” – with words and music by multiple Oscar-nominee Diane Warren and performed by Leona Lewis – will be released by Apple Original Series Soundtracks on April 7. The live-plus-CGI-blended series comes from Sinking Ship Entertainment, which also produces the series Ghostwriter.
Jane premieres globally on Friday, April 14 on Apple TV Plus.
