Based on the self-published novel by Jamie McGuire, Hulu's new original movie, Beautiful Disaster, tells the story of how a bad boy wins a good girl, although the good girl isn't as good as she first seems.
Starring Dylan Sprouse (Riverdale) as Travis and Virginia Gardner (Marvel's Runaways) as Abby, the trailer shows Travis and Abby's meet-cute at an underground boxing match. While Abby keeps telling Travis that he's “not her type,” he clearly is as he discovers when he catches her admiring a picture of him on her cell phone.
Before a match with a seemingly out-sized opponent, Travis bets Abby that if he loses, he will go without sex for a month but if he wins, she has to come live with him for a month.
“Pack your bags, pigeon,” he gloats after, of course, winning the match. “You're coming home with me.”
Although Abby designates the middle of the bed, the “wall of China,” that agreement doesn't hold for long. But what Travis doesn't know is that Abby has a few things she's not sharing with him.
Hulu also released a poster for the movie on X, the service formerly known as Twitter:
Beautiful Disaster is written by McGuire and Roger Kumble, with Kumble also serving as director. The movie premieres August 11 on Hulu.
