​As part of a multicultural collaboration and Fox's diversity-focused #TVforAll campaign, Fox and Los Angeles-based education non-profit Get Lit are working together to create impactful videos all year long. This February, in celebration of Black History Month, Fox is debuting original poem, “Black Future,” written and performed by Monique Mitchell. The poem and video, which features many of Fox's Black stars, will be shared across local Fox stations and digital platforms throughout the month.

Get Lit was founded in 2006 by author and educator Diane Luby Lane to increase literacy, empower youth and energize communities through poetry and visual media. Get Lit works to provide the creative outlet, community and work experience that transforms students into activists, scholars and stars.

Mitchell is a poet and ghostwriter who has been published by The New York Times, Cultural Weekly and various print publications across Los Angeles. Mitchell was invited to perform for the California State Senate in defense of SB 933, which secured $50M for arts education across California. She also has collaborated with the likes of Cass Bird, Cara Delevingne, Maria Shriver, Ghana's CEO of the Decade, Freedom Jacob Caesar and Puma.
