Eggs, flour, butter, raspberries and chocolate all happily prepare to make the journey back to the big tent in time for the return of The Great British Bake Off on UK's Channel 4. It's a tiny bit morbid watching each ingredient sacrifice itself for the greater good, even if the result is a delicious chocolate raspberry torte.
That torte is then sampled by GBBO's panel of judges, including Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. Hollywood and Leith were joined by new host, British reality star and ITV presenter Alison Hammon, who replaced Matt Lucas for this season, as well as Noel Fielding.
The spot was produced by Channel 4's in-house agency 4creative in collaboration with London-based The Line Animation and Time Based Arts. It's accompanied by Belinda Carlisle's “Heaven is a Place on Earth.”
“Bake Off is a very special thing, so it stands to reason that even those getting cracked, mixed, whipped and dipped all in the name of a showstopper are equally as excited about its return. The team have had a lot of fun creating this ingredients odyssey with the brilliant people at The Line Animation,” said Lynsey Atkin, executive creative director at Channel 4's in-house studio 4creative, in a statement.
“Nobody can resist the allure of Bake Off, not even the ingredients themselves! Which in itself is quite unexpected, but it's a magical reminder of the Bake Off joy,” said Amber Kirby, Channel 4's marketing director, also in a statement. “It has been great fun seeing the ingredients come to life and we hope people are as excited as we are to welcome Channel 4's biggest show back to our screens.“
A premiere date has not yet been announced but the beloved baking series generally returns in mid-September and September 12 is the rumored premiere date.
