Editor Elena De Palma has signed with editorial boutique Cutters Studios for representation across the U.S., said Cutters New York Managing Director and Executive Producer Caitlin Grady on Thursday.
“Having worked with Elena previously, I have experienced firsthand her incredible passion for and devotion to her craft,” Grady said in a statement. “She is steadfast in her efforts to manifest beautiful cuts and exceptional client experiences. Her work is melodic and has a natural flow that feels effortless to the viewer. It's beautiful to watch a spot evolve in her hands as she tirelessly, carefully crafts together picture, sound, and graphics.”
De Palma has edited projects across many genres, including Coca Cola's “The Wonder of Us” Super Bowl spot directed by Alma Har'el; Mercedes-Benz #YouDrive spot directed by Yann Demange; comedic spots for director Camila Zapiola; fashion-forward spots for director Sophie Edelstein; collaborations with director Ben Liam Jones; VFX-intensive and/or rapid-turnaround spots with Fredrik Bond, Emile Rafael, and the Ne-o directing duo; and charity projects for Crisis, Arthritis Research, and NSPCC, a U.K.-based charity focused on preventing child abuse.
Global editorial shop Cutters has studio operations in New York, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Kansas City and Tokyo.
“As a premiere global post-production company, having such a talented editor in London who is also available in all our offices adds a very exciting new dimension,” Grady said.
“I had just started to collaborate on some incredible projects here in the U.S., leading to my first Super Bowl spot, and then the pandemic hit,” said De Palma. “Luckily for me, Caitlin, who is well known in the industry for nurturing talent, reached out and offered me a new opportunity at Cutters.”
De Palma is represented in Europe by tenthree.
