Disney and its animation studio Pixar beat its own record for trailer views on Thursday, when the teaser trailer for Inside Out 2, coming next June, snagged 157 million views in a single day. That beat 2019's Frozen 2, which nabbed 116.4 views in its first 24 hours.
The trailer, which is set to the opening strains of Ozzy Osbourne's “Crazy Train,” performed particularly well on TikTok, where it was checked out almost 80 million times. TikTok has grown significantly in users and power since 2019. Disney just announced a content hub on the platform in celebration of its 100th anniversary.
Inside Out debuted in 2016 and featured the voice talents of Amy Poehler as Joy, Tony Hale as Fear, Lewis Black as Anger, Liza Lapira as Disgust and Phyllis Smith as Sadness. The movie is about a young girl who's dealing with lots of emotions as she moves from the Midwest to San Francisco. It grossed more than $858 million worldwide and won the Oscar for best animated feature.
In the sequel, Riley is now a teenager so there's even more for the cast of emotions to do. A new emotion, Anxiety, also enters the picture, voiced by Maya Hawke.
