Kate Wyler (Keri Russell) tends more toward crisis management – like extremely high crisis – than political management, yet she finds herself assigned to serve as the new U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, her husband Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell), has tons of experience carefully negotiating delicate political situations, but he's not the one in charge here.

How the two manage their marriage as well as their high-stakes careers is the story of Netflix's new drama, The Diplomat.

The Diplomat also stars David Gyasi, Ali Ahn, Rory Kinnear and Ato Essandoh. Guest stars include Celia Imrie, Michael McKean, Nana Mensah, T'Nia Miller and Miguel Sandoval. It's executive produced, by Debora Cahn (The West Wing, Homeland), who also serves as showrunner. Russell, Janice Williams and Simon Cellan Jones also executive produce, with Dan Tolan producing.

The Diplomat premieres Thursday, April 20 on Netflix.
