Peacock's Bel-Air – which reimagines The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in a more modern-day, less sitcom-y setting – got the go-ahead for season three even as its second season airs on the streaming service and the cast took to social media to share the news.

Just like the original, the series follows Will (Jabari Banks), a young man going down the wrong path in West Philadelphia who is sent to live with his uncle in Bel-Air. When he gets there, he is sullen and resentful, but he quickly makes friends, falls in love, makes the basketball team and begins to settle in.

Besides Banks, Bel-Air also stars Adrian Holmes, Cassandra Freeman, Olly Sholotan, Coco Jones, Akira Akbar, Jimmy Akingbola, Jordan L. Jones and Simone Joy Jones.

The series is based on the 2019 four-minute fan-made trailer by Morgan Cooper, who is now an executive producer on the series. Cooper is joined by showrunner, executive producer and writer Carla Banks Waddles.

Bel-Air is produced by Universal Television and Westbrook Studios, a division of Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith's production company, Westbrook Inc.
