Carson Hood has been promoted to executive vice president and Virgil Conklin to vice president at New York City-based creative studio BigStar Motion Design.
“Carson and Virgil have been vital to the expansion and success of BigStar, and as our work and projects level up in complexity and craft, their leadership is more important than ever,” said Josh Norton, BigStar founder and executive creative director, in a statement
Several other employees were promoted, including Ross Henderson and Mark Thompson, who both moved up to creative director. New artists, producers and other employees also have been hired, including Padraic Driscoll, art director; Nick Woythaler, director/head of 3D; Sohyun Park, associate art director; Brian Landisman, senior 2D/3D animator; Tifé Odumosu, junior designer and animator; Justin Nixon, VFX specialist; Addy Afzali, junior 2D/3D animator/designer; Paulina Casey, associate producer and Charlie Hayes, office manager.

“Seeing the growth BigStar has experienced in the last few years feels explosive, but is really the result of years of hard work from our artists and producers, meaningful client relationships and the leadership of our founder Josh Norton,” said Hood, who also serves as executive producer at the studio, in a statement.

BigStar has worked on such series as HBO's Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, AMC's The Walking Dead and FX's Welcome to Wrexham and for such TV brands as CNN, Discovery, Disney, FX, HBO, TNT and many more.
