Some people want to watch romantic Christmas movies all year long, for others, horror is where it's at.

AMC Networks' annual Halloween programming event, FearFest, returns but this year it starts on September 1 and runs through Halloween on October 31. Its more than 700 hours of horror and genre programming is curated by AMC Networks' very own horror-themed network, Shudder, for the first time.

Starting Friday, September 1, Shudder's 101 Scariest Horror Movie Moments of All Time will air Fridays at 11 p.m. on AMC. During the last week of September, horror will take over AMC's primetime, with such horror franchises as Scream and Halloween as well as Stephen King classics The Shining and Firestarter running on the network.

Come October, both AMC and Shudder will go wall-to-wall with horror. AMC will host new Shudder movies and series each Friday night leading up to Halloween, including a double feature of Shudder's V/H/S franchise on Friday, October 6, and the season-four premiere of Shudder's Creepshow, executive produced by The Walking Dead's Greg Nicotero, on AMC, AMC Plus and Shudder on Friday, October 13.

On AMC's slate is the 45th anniversary of Halloweenwith anew The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs special on Tuesday, October 10, at 10:00 p.m.; the 50th anniversary of The Exorcist paired with its 101 Scariest Movie Moments of All Time episode on Friday, September 29, at 8:15 p.m., and the 55th anniversary of Rosemary's Baby followed by the Cursed Films documentary on Monday, October 2, at 8:00 p.m.

Shudder will debut new movies and series every week in September and October, including thriller Perpetrator, starring Alicia Silverstone, on September 1; Malaysian horror film Blood Flower on September 8; Elevator Game on Friday, September 15; The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster on September 22, which will also air on AMC Plus and ALLBLK; Shudder original film Nightmare on September 29; the next installment in the V/H/S franchise, V/H/S/85 on October 6; Shudder original film The Puppetman on October 13; Shudder original film Night of the Hunted on October 20; Shudder's first Spanish-language original, When Evil Lurks, on October 27; Shudder original film Hell House LLC Origins:The Carmichael Manor on Monday, October 30; a new season of The Boulet Brothers' Dragula; and new specials from The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs throughout the season.

Shudder will also add series and movies throughout September and October, including season one of The Terror on September 25; the Hell House movie trilogy on October 2; season two of Chucky on October 5; and all three seasons of Stan Against Evil on October 26.

AMC, AMC Plus and Shudder sibling services will also get in on the frightful fun with branded FearFest off-shoots and special programming, including

—BBC America's “Bloody Good Fear,” featuring fan-favorite sci-fi and supernatural movies every Sunday in October to deliver on the “Sunday Scaries”;

—IFC's “Fear on Friday,” establishing a new weekly Friday night horror programming block presented by Shudder, starting in September;

—Sundance TV's “Icons of Fear,” pairing iconic horror films with corresponding Cursed Films episodes for a “shock and a doc” double feature starting October 15;

—WE tv's “Fear After Dark,” featuring Shudder films and documentaries spotlighting Black horror every Thursday in October;

—Acorn TV's debut of The Terror's first season starring Tobias Menzies (Outlander) and Jared Harris (Foundation) (also premiering September 25 across Shudder and AMC Plus);

—ALLBLK's co-premiere of The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster (with Shudder) on September 22), Shudder's The Boulet Brothers' Dragula: Titans, and the return of ALLBLK Original Series Wicked City for its second season on October 19;

—IFC Films Unlimited's “Best of IFC Midnight” collection, including top seasonal franchise The Human Centipede;

—HiDive's collection of anime horror including breakout new series Dark Gathering; and

—Sundance Nowwill ungate the first season of supernatural series Being Human for the season.

FearFest runs across AMC Networks—including AMC, AMC Plus, Shudder, ALLBLK, Acorn TV, BBC America, HiDive, IFC and Sundance Now—from Friday, September 1 through Tuesday, October 31.
