Seattle-based creative studio Plains of Yonder outdid itself with the season-three opening credits for HBO’s The White Lotus, with an all new tapestry-inspired sequence.
Each stunning frame tells a little story on its own and each of those stories, which usually indicate impending disaster, reflects on what happens in the show. As always, monkeys are present.
Plains of Yonder has produced a different main-title sequence for each season of The White Lotus, with its season-two version, set in Sicily, nominated for a Primetime Emmy.

While season two riffed on the anthology series’ distinctive music from season one, season three’s Thai setting introduces an entirely new composition, “Enlightenment,” by Cristobal Tapia de Veer. Season one’s theme is titled “Aloha,” while season two is “Renaissance,” a riff on “Aloha.” The music to which each episode of season three is scored also has a distinctively Thai feel.
The White Lotus airs on HBO on Sundays at 9 pm/6 pm ET/PT with each episode streaming the next day on Max.
