Ahead of the second season premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead: Dead City multiple Manhattan establishments and beyond will host Walkers while handing out swag to fans.
In season two, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) are on opposite sides as each tries to figure out how to navigate both the zombie-infested city and the three factions that run it.
The series also stars Gaius Charles, Željko Ivanek, Mahina Anne Marie Napoleon, Lisa Emery, Logan Kim, Dascha Polanco and Kim Coates. Eli Jorné, who has been a writer and co-executive producer on The Walking Dead for multiple seasons, serves as showrunner and executive producer, along with Scott M. Gimple, chief content officer of The Walking Dead Universe, Cohan, Morgan, Brian Bockrath, Michael Satrazemis and Colin Walsh.
On Sunday, April 27, Walkers will wake up sleepy runners at the Brooklyn Half Marathon, which gets underway at 7 a.m. in Prospect Park. Afterwards, AMC is hosting a post-run activation with premium giveaways and photo ops.
On Monday, April 28, Rooftop Films will host a special advance screening of the season premiere as well as a panel with the cast and executive producer, moderated by Entertainment Weekly’s Dalton Ross, at Industry City in Brooklyn.
Walkers will take over multiple locations in the city on Tuesday, April 29, including Penn Station, PopUp Bagels, AMC Networks Offices, the Empire State Building and Radio City Music Hall. Each location also will host its own activation. Issues of the New York Post with a special TWD: Dead City Cover will be handed out at Penn Station. PopUp Bagels’ first 200 customers will be able to pick up a free three-pack of bagels. The cast and executive producers will appear at the Empire State Building and Radio City will host photo opps.

Series stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) and Lauren Cohan (Maggie) will throw out the game’s first pitch. Mets players will use replicas of Negan’s barbed wire-wrapped bat, Lucille, to hit balls. Throughout the game, merch will be handed out and Walkers will appear in the stands to take photos with fans.
The week of activations wraps on Wednesday, April 30, with a screening and panel at the Paley Center for Media. The night will begin with a red carpet, a screening of the season-two premiere and a panel with the cast and executive producers moderated by The Hollywood Reporter’s Josh Wigler.
