It might have been worth the three-year wait to see Severance’s all-new main-title sequence.

Designed by art director and 3D artist Oliver Latty, known as Extraweg, and designer Teddy Blanks, the sequence gets much stranger in this iteration, with outie Mark (Adam Scott) dragging innie Mark through all sorts of scenarios, eventually peeking out from the back of his own head. Latty and Blanks won the Emmy for outstanding main title design in season one. The music, composed by Theodore Shapiro, remained the same.

In season two of Severance, the macrodata refining team of Mark S (Scott), Helly R (Britt Lower), Irving B (John Turturro) and Dylan G (Zach Cherry) find themselves still working at Lumon Industries, even after they led an uprising at the end of season one. Season two seems to start up right where season one left off (or does it?) as they – and the audience – tries to figure out what is actually going on at the company.

Severance also stars Tramell Tillman as earnest manager Seth Milchick, Patricia Arquette as Severance supervisor Harmony Cobel/Mark’s next-door neighbor Mrs. Selvig, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman and Christopher Walken as a fellow severed worker and Irving’s love interest. Sarah Bock joins as a new series regular.

Severance is executive produced by Ben Stiller, who also directs five episodes this season in addition to directors Uta Bresiewitz, Sam Donovan and Jessica Lee Gagné. The series is written, created and executive produced by Dan Erickson. Severance season two is also executive produced by John Lesher, Jackie Cohn, Mark Friedman, Beau Willimon, Jordan Tappis, Sam Donovan, Caroline Baron, Richard Schwartz, Nicholas Weinstock. In addition to starring, Adam Scott and Patricia Arquette serve as executive producers. Fifth Season is the studio.

Season two of Severance premiered Friday, January 17 on Apple TV Plus with new episodes dropping each week.
