After the runaway success of Peacock’s reality series The Traitors, hosted by Alan Cumming, and Netflix’s The Circle, USA Network is premiering a new deception-based reality show, The Anonymous, and it features players strategically deceiving each other to win $100,000.
“Another day, more fake-ass bitches,” says one contestant in a separate teaser.
The game is played in two modes: out in the open and and anonymous mode. In the open, contestants compete, Survivor-style, in physical challenges. But when they’re anonymous, they operate behind crafted digital facades to manipulate the other players in whatever ways they see fit.
Anna Delvey -- who came to fame after she posed as a wealthy German heiress who swindled banks, hotels and former friends out of $275,000 -- is partnering with USA Network on the series. In the spot, Delvey, who served four years in jail for her crimes, is well dressed and seated in a nicely decorated sitting room with a tracking bracelet on her ankle.
The show features a few cast members that should be familiar to reality die-hards: Big Brother 23 winner and The Challenge: USA alum Xavier E. Prather; Australian Survivor alum (and daughter of two-time U.S. Survivor winner Sandra Diaz-Twine) Nina Twine; and Fyre Festival event producer Andy King, who was a breakout star in Netflix's documentary about the disaster.
The Anonymous, which premiered Monday, August 19 on USA Network and is airing throughout the week on sister cable nets Bravo and Syfy, comes from Studio Lambert, which produces both USA’s The Traitors and Netflix’s The Circle.
