The comforting voice of Tom Hanks narrates NBC’s new natural history event series, The Americas, which dropped its first trailer on Monday. The 10-part event series, which looks at flora and fauna from Canada’s frozen north to the bottom of the world in Patagonia, was five years in the making and filmed over the course of 180 expeditions.
The Americas is produced by BBC Studios Natural History Unit in association with Universal Television Alternative Studio. It’s executive produced by Mike Gunton (Life, Planet Earth II, Dynasties) with music by Oscar and Grammy-winning composer Hans Zimmer.
The Americas premieres with a special two-hour episode on NBC on Sunday, February 23 at 7 p.m. ET. Following the premiere, it will move into its regular 8 p.m. timeslot on Sunday, March 2 (when it will be up against the Oscars on ABC). Episodes also will be available to stream on Peacock.
