Disney shared some of its content vision with fans at last weekend’s D23: Ultimate Fan Event in Anaheim, Calif. For Disney fans (and investors), the event is like upfronts and San Diego Comic-Con rolled into one but focused on all things Disney.

There’s a lot going on across the entire company – including theme parks and experiences – but for Spotlight’s purposes, we focus on TV series and movies across Disney’s verticals: Disney Plus and Hulu, Disney Films, LucasFilm (Star Wars), Marvel Studios and Pixar. We break it down for you and show trailers where possible below.

On the TV and streaming side:

LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian, an animated series that will stream exclusively on Disney Plus, debuts September 2, 2026.

The Scrubs reboot – which includes all your favorite characters from the original, from J.D. (Zach Braff) and Turk (Donald Faison) to Elliot (Sarah Chalke) and Dr. Perry Cox (John C.McGinley) – returns for season two on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 8 p.m. on ABC. The series will also be available to stream on Hulu and Hulu on Disney Plus.

The below trailer for new Disney Plus series Coven Academy is set to a version of “Brutal” from Olivia Rodrigo. The series about a school for witches comes from Tim Federle, who created High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, which happens to be where Rodrigo got her start. Coven Academy premieres October 1 on Freeform and October 2 on Disney Plus.

Paul Bettany returns as the UI-turned-mostly-human Vision in Marvel’s VisionQuest, which premieres October 14, 2026, on Disney Plus.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians comes back to Disney Plus for its third season on November 20.

Likewise, with Spider-Man: Brand New Day continuing to kill it at the box office, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man returns for season two this January on Disney Plus.

Crossing over to the Star Wars Universe for a second, season two of Ahsoka, starring Rosario Dawson, premieres Wednesday, January 20, 2027, on Disney Plus.

And finally, Jon Favreau is bringing back the original Disney animated character, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, with his three-part live-action and animated blended mini-series Oswald, debuting February 17, 2027, exclusively on Disney Plus.

On the film side, the movie everyone is waiting for is coming this Christmas: Avengers 5: Doomsday, featuring Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the Marvel Universe in a completely different role: Dr. Doom.

Avengers 5 opens December 18, 2026 exclusively in theaters. If all goes as expected, the movie should top off what has proven to be a strong year at the box office.

But before that, Disney will release its new animated movie Hexed – starring new mom Hailee Steinfeld, Jodie Foster and Walton Goggin – just in time for Thanksgiving on November 25, 2026.

Sticking with animation, Ice Age: Boiling Point starring Queen Latifah and Dennis O’Leary, opens in theaters on February 5, 2027.

Ryan Gosling stars as Kade Auberon in Star Wars: Starfighter, which debuts May 28, 2027. D23 attendees were treated to an exclusive teaser on site.

Kids can look forward to The Bluey Movie coming August 6, 2027, and The Simpsons is finally becoming a movie and that will debut on September 3, 2027.

The much-anticipated Frozen 3 is slated to come out in the Thanksgiving timeframe of  November 24, 2027, while a live-action version of Tangled comes out March 31, 2028.

The X-Men are back on May 5, 2028, with an all-new cast that includes Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, which was first teased in Spider-Man: Brand New Day; Heartstopper’s Kit Connor as Scott Summers/Cyclops; Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier; Obsession’s Inde Navarrette as Rogue; and Adam Driver as Nathaniel Milbury/Mister Sinister, the film’s main villain.

After Disney’s live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch grossed more than $1 billion at the box office, it’s no surprise that the company has slated a sequel for May 28, 2028.

Clay, an animated film starring Kieran Culkin as Flip), will premiere exclusively in theaters in  November 2028.

Meanwhile, next up for Pixar is the March 27, 2027 release of animated film, Gatto, starring Mark Ruffalo as Nero the cat. After that, Ghost Market is coming in spring 2028 (officially targeted for March 10, 2028) and Incredibles 3 in summer 2028. The much-anticipated Coco 2 is slated for November 2029.
