Statement from the G.E.M.A. Board of Directors

Given recent organizational changes and shifting priorities being felt by our members industrywide, the Global Entertainment Marketing Academy (G.E.M.A.) has made the difficult decision to pause our upcoming two-day event. As an organization deeply rooted in the entertainment marketing industry, we recognize the impact these changes have on our community and the professionals within it. Just as our industry undergoes periods of transformation, so too must our organization evolve to continue to best serve and support our members.*

While we have chosen to pause this event, it is important to emphasize that we remain fully committed to our mission of advancing the important conversations, connections, and celebrations that were planned. We are working closely with our Board members, Partners, and the G.E.M.A. team to explore ways to bring these valuable experiences to you in the most equitable and accessible way possible over the coming months.

As always, G.E.M.A. is dedicated to supporting our members throughout their individual and collective professional journeys across the dynamic entertainment marketing landscape. That includes serving our community during these challenging times, so we are also redirecting a portion of the funding allocated for this event to subsidize G.E.M.A. memberships for those affected by recent restructuring within their organizations. This ensures that those most impacted by the industry's shifts will have access to vital learning, resources and networking opportunities that are integral to professional growth.

We appreciate the continued understanding and support of our community. We invite you to join us in shaping new opportunities and initiatives that will be both valuable and supportive of our industry's ongoing evolution. Together, we will navigate this period of change and emerge stronger, more connected, and more resilient as a community.

TGL: BUILDING A BRAND FROM THE GROUND UP

What is the CONVERGE 2024 refund policy?

The Global Entertainment Marketing Academy (G.E.M.A.) is a not-for-profit 501(c)6 association serving entertainment marketing and creative industries. Proceeds from our ticketed events directly support our mission. When you purchase a ticket or pass to one of our events, your contribution funds essential programs, career development opportunities, and events designed to support the G.E.M.A. community. As all contributions are immediately put to work, we are unable to offer refunds for industry events. However, tickets may be transferred to another designated attendee (additional fees may apply). Please inform us of any transfers at events@gema.org.

How can I get a letter of invitation for a visa?

Please email events@gema.org to request visa documentation. We require that you purchase an event ticket before processing your visa invitation. G.E.M.A. will refund you if you cannot obtain the proper visa for travel to the event (documentation will be required for the refund).

Are there any group discounts?

Yes! For groups of 5 or more, please contact events@gema.org.

Do you offer any hotel discounts?

Will the sessions be live-streamed from the event?

We do not plan to live stream sessions.

I am a member of the press interested in a press pass, how do I apply?

The Global Entertainment Marketing Academy invites working journalists representing accredited media outlets to apply for credentials to cover our conferences. G.E.M.A will determine qualifications of all media outlets, and the academy reserves the right to revoke credentials at any time. Press credentials do not guarantee admission to all sessions, programs, events, and parties associated with the experience. Employees of media outlets who do not work in an editorial capacity will not qualify for a press credential, including Art Directors, Graphic Designers, Publishers, Managers, Marketing, PR, Sales, and Senior Level Managerial staff. Employees of creative agencies engaged in blogging to promote their company’s work, clients, and activities will not qualify for a press credential. Publicists and personal representatives of confirmed speakers at a G.E.M.A. conference should speak with their contact on the Speaker Management Team to discuss admission to the conference. To apply for a press credential, please email scott.rowe@gema.org with the following:

  • A bylined entertainment marketing and design-related article from your publication written by you and published within the past three months (the copy must clearly show the name of the publication and your byline).
